Nascida em Santos em 1989, Bruna é filha de pais pernambucanos e foi criada em Timóteo, interior de Minas Gerais. Foi para Belo Horizonte estudar Ciências Sociais na UFMG, mas formou-se em Comunicação Social, também na UFMG. Conheceu as linguagens da gravura, serigrafia, desenho e pintura em cursos e oficinas livres pelo Brasil. Bruna atuou muitos anos como educadora e designer da Agência de Iniciativas Cidadãs - AIC (Belo Horizonte), também teve importante atuação como bolsista de extensão do Polo de Integração da UFMG no Vale do Jequitinhonha e como educadora da Casa Uaná - PE.
Sobre as técnicas que usa, Bruna gosta de trabalhar com materiais bem variados: gravura, serigrafia, estêncil, carimbo, pintura com acrílicas e látex, lápis de cor, giz, colagem, entre outros. Em 2020 publicou seu primeiro livro como autora de texto e imagem, o "Dentro de Casa" (Ed. Aletria), livro que ganhou o Selo Cátedra Unesco PUC Rio e foi finalista do Prêmio Jabuti na categoria Livro Infantil. Seus trabalhos já foram reconhecidos em diferentes seleções. Em 2020, 2021 e 2022 foi finalista do Prêmio Jabuti. Em 2021, 2022 e 2023 recebeu o selo Cátedra Unesco Puc-Rio por alguns de seus trabalhos. Bruna teve ainda livros selecionados pela Revista Crescer como um dos "Melhores do Ano”, pela FNLIJ como "Altamente Recomendáveis”, pelo Prêmio Literário Biblioteca Nacional (terceiro lugar na categoria Infantil - Prêmio Sylvia Orthof) e pelo Prêmio CELLIJ / UNESP (Melhor Livro para Crianças - cat. Nacional). Ainda em 2022 o livro "De Passinho em Passinho" (Cia. das Letrinhas), ilustrado por Bruna e escrito por Otávio Júnior, foi selecionado para o Programa Leia com uma criança do Itaú Social.

Bruna Lubambo is a Brazilian illustrator. She was born in Santos in 1989, and is the daughter of parents from Pernambuco and was raised in Timóteo, in the countryside of Minas Gerais. She went to Belo Horizonte to study Social Sciences at UFMG, but ended up graduating in Social Communication, also at UFMG. She learned about the languages of engraving, serigraphy, drawing and painting in free courses and workshops throughout Brazil. Bruna has worked for many years as an educator and designer at the NGO Agência de Iniciativas Cidadãs - AIC (Belo Horizonte). She also had an important role as an extension fellow at the UFMG Integration Hub in Vale do Jequitinhonha and as an educator at Casa Uaná - PE.
About the techniques she uses, Bruna likes to work with a wide range of materials: engraving, silkscreen, stencil, stamp, painting with acrylics and latex, coloring pencils, chalk, collage, among others. In 2020, she published her first book as a text and image author, "Dentro de Casa" (Ed. Aletria), a book that won the Selo Cátedra Unesco PUC Rio and was selected for the Clube Quindim selection. In the same year she was among the 5 finalists of the Jabuti Award in the illustration category with the book "Oir o Rio" (Ed. Sowilo). In 2021, she illustrated and wrote "Contos de Cabras e Bodes" (Ed. Jandaíra), which entered the important selection of the Clube Quindim and the City Hall of São Paulo. "Contos de Cabras e Bodes" retells two oral stories by Sekuru Compound Muradzikwa (Zimbabwe), Chipendani's master player, who signed, together with Bruna, the authorship of the work. Also in 2021, the book "O Conto do Rouxinol em Cordel" (Ed. Aletria), , won the Seal "Highly Recommendable" by FNLIJ together with her illustrations and the book "O Tio + Oito" (Ed. Caixote), illustrated by Bruna , joined the important selection of Taba Rede de Leitura.
Among other books, Bruna has also illustrated "De Passinho em Passinho" (Cia. das Letrinhas), written by Otávio Júnior, winner of the Jabuti Prize in 2020; "O Bicho mais Poderoso do Mundo" (Ed. Aletria) and "Meu Avô é um Tata" (Ed. Pallas), both selected for the catalog of the São Paulo Department of Education.
